Custom Stained Glass is a full service stained glass studio located in South Easton, Massachusetts. The studio was launched in 1976 by owner/artisan Jack Hurley with the intention of developing high quality stained glass windows rooted in a deep appreciation and understanding of historic design practices and methodologies.
Early work consisted mostly of private commissions, art fairs and repair work for antique dealers and auctioneers. Through the years Custom Stained Glass has become the main supplier of stained glass for the majority of the kitchen cabinet manufacturers in the New England area.
In the period between 1980-1990 Custom Stained Glass designed, manufactured and installed stained glass windows throughout the New England area; focusing mainly on restaurants and commercial facilities.
More recently, we have worked closely with the Archdiocese of Boston removing, restoring and in some instances reinstalling the original stained glass windows of some of Boston’s most historic churches. This involved the careful removal, repairing and in some cases, resizing of stained glass windows to new locations.From 2003-2010 Custom Stained Glass was closely affiliated with the Lyn Hovey Studio, performing most of the outside operations. Including installations at Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Saint John’s, Virgin Islands and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Additionally we assisted in the set up of the Hovey Studio in Guatemala.
In 2009 Jack Hurley traveled to the Church of Saint Judas Thaddeus in Arusha, Tanzania to install stained glass windows in the, then newly constructed church.
Some of our more notable installations and restoration projects include:
- St. Mary’s Church in Randolph, Massachusetts.
- Four Fredrick Crowninsheild windows for St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
- 83 steel frame casement windows with leaded glass for a private residence in Weston, Massachusetts.
Today we work out of a 2500 sq. foot studio at 822 Washington St. in South Easton, MA. We bring our decades of experience to ensure our clients always get the highest quality stained glass design and fabrication. We work closely with our clients from the early design phase to the final installation of the completed product.

With a combined experience of over 50 years in the stained glass design, the Custom Stained Glass team is comprised of highly skilled and dedicated artisans. Our crew is skilled in all facets of stained glass design and fabrication. Our team are experts in medieval stained glass painting and staining techniques, as well as acid or sandblast etching on glass or mirror.
